Center Valley, PA (October 8, 2013) – It was a tale of two halves on Tuesday as the DeSales University field hockey team enjoyed a 2-0 lead just 7:22 into the game and into the half before Richard Stockton dominated the second-half scoring three unanswered goals en route to a 3-2 win over the Bulldogs in non-conference action.

Senior Jen Burley started the scoring just 5:44 into the game when she sent in a shot just inside the circle and just inside the far post for her second goal of the season.

Junior Alison Malatesta made it a two-goal game just 1:38 later when her centering pass went thru everyone and caromed off the far post and into the cage for her third goal of the season.

DSU's 2-0 lead stood into the half as Stockton out-shot the Bulldogs, 10-8, and held a slim 5-4 advantage in corners in the first-half.

The second-half was a different story as the Ospreys turned up their play and dominated DeSales, out-shooting the Bulldogs 13-1 in the half and holding an 11-2 advantage in penalty corners.

RSC got on the board at 43:19 when Grace Kinney scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Rileigh Ruff and tied the game just 2:21 later when Alicia Belko scored off an assist from Katie Carpenter.

The game remained tied into the 64th minute when Carpenter found the game-winner on a lifted shot just inside the far post, her first goal of the season.

Sophomore Becky Rasmuson made eight stops for the Bulldogs who saw its two-game winning streak come to an end as they fall to 5-7 on the year.

DSU is back in action on Saturday when they host FDU-Florham in another important Freedom Conference game beginning at 1:30 pm.
