DJ McCauley tossed a one-hit shutout with 11 K's in game one and senior
Brittany Wilson fired four innings of shutout relief in game two as the DeSales University softball team opened play on its spring trip with a 3-0 win over Iowa Wesleyan College and a 6-1 win over Concordia College (MN) on Monday afternoon at the Tucson Invitational.
In the first game of the day and the trip, DSU (2-0) scored two runs on three IWC errors in the first inning and added a solo run in the fourth innings on an RBI single from sophomore
Shelby Wilson and McCauley did the rest allowing just one hit, a two-out double in the fourth, striking out 11 and walking four for her collegiate win in her collegiate pitching debut. McCauley only allowed three runners to reach second base all game.

Samantha Gibson had the Bulldogs three hits in the first game.
In the second game after allowing a single run in the first inning, DSU exploded for six runs in the second inning, five of which were unearned, to take a 6-1 lead and never looked back from there.

Michelle Gessner all had RBIs in the six-run second. Sophomore
Rachel Vogel lasted just three innings in the circle before B. Wilson picked up where Vogel left off tossing four innings of shutout relief allowing just three hits and striking out one for her first win of the year.
Hockman, McCauley, and S. Wilson all had two hits to lead an eight-hit attack in the game two win.
The Bulldogs are back at it tomorrow with two more games of an eight-game four-day spring trip that wraps up Thursday morning.
