Center Valley, PA (June 1, 2020) - Junior Matthew Kraus was honored late on Friday afternoon being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country First-Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

To be eligible for Google Cloud Academic All-District and All-America® honors selected by CoSIDA, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.30 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve. District IV in NCAA Division III is made up of schools from Pennsylvania. By making the All-District First Team, Kraus is now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for Google Cloud Academic All-America® accolades.

This is the second straight year Kraus has earned CoSIDA All-District honors.  He was enjoying a breakout junior season in indoor track qualifying for the NCAA Division III Indoor T&F National Championships before the NCAA cancelled its winter and spring championships due to COVID-19.  Prior to the shutdown he was awarded the Elite 90 award given to the athlete with the highest GPA among all athletes competing at the National Championships.

He earned USTFCCCA All-American and All-Region honors in the 800 meters entering the NCAA Championships as the 15th seed.  He placed second in the 800-meters at the MAC Indoor T&F Championships and was a member of two MAC Championship relay teams including the 4x800 meters and DMR relay team this season.
