Center Valley, PA (February 13, 2023) - The DeSales University Esports team dropped a 2-0 decision in Valorant and a 3-0 decision in Overwatch last week to Arcadia University.

Valorant L, 2-0
The first game was a 13-2 sweep for Arcadia University on Haven. Arcadia's many flashes made them strong on retakes and enabled them to take a lot of space. The second game went better with a 13-7 loss for DeSales, at one point it was quite close at 9-7 but Arcadia regained their strength and secured a win with the following rounds.

Overwatch L, 3-0
Overall it was a great match and a hard fight at every point of each map. In our first map we were off kilter and struggled with some communication but we were able to bring it back and perform much better in our future maps. Dorado was our third map and we had a stellar defense, and we prevented Arcadia from making it to the second checkpoint but unfortunately our attack wasn't enough to break Arcadia's defense. Our second map however, Kings Row, is arguably the most played map in collegiate esports, just because it is a comfort pick for every team. Those two attacks and defenses were some of the best Overwatch games I feel our team has played this season and suffering a 3-0 is always heartbreaking but at the end of the day I can safely say that we all thoroughly enjoyed these match ups and had a fantastic time.
