Center Valley, PA (March 2, 2023) - The DeSales University esports team defeated Messiah and Albright in League of Legends competition, while falling to NJIT in a Valorant tournament qualifier in late February.

Valorant (2/18 vs. NJIT)
For the valorant match, it was a 13-5 loss in the tournament qualifier. It was single elimination so only one game was played.  The game was on Split, which is a map with many close corners, a strong need for mid control and defense of choke points. The enemy team had a really strong team comp for retake and push. They were also able to easily take space in mid and maintain presence which made it difficult for us.

League of Legends (2/25 vs. Messiah - W/2-0)
DeSales had a really strong early game in the first game, dominating the match with early kills and pressure in both sides of the map. The Gankplank pick by Unhand (Jacky) was a really good pick in which he went on to do the most damage by the end of the game and get the most kills.

In the second game Messiah was going head to head with DeSales as they were being more active on the map and the Messiah jungler was getting really strong by making a lot of plays on botside of the map. There was a lot of fighting where both teams won and lost. At the end DeSales got the dragon soul and went onto finish the game after a really challenging second game.

League of Legends (2/28 vs. Albright - W/2-0)
DeSales dominated the first game with getting first blood and mostly all objectives, had pressure on all 3 lanes and even there were some weird teamfights Unhand (jacky) who played Camille was able to get a teamwipe and ended the game pretty early on a really solid baron capitalization.

In the second game Albright opened the game up with first blood as DeSales top lane picked Kayle who was not so strong early and had a pretty even laning phase in all 3 lanes. When it came to objectives Albright did not put too much of a fight letting DeSales take them all. Towards late game the Kayle was getting stronger and after a couple team fights DeSales was easily able to take down the enemy Nexus making it another easy win.
