Center Valley, PA (September 24, 2024) - The DeSales Esports' Overwatch 2 team faced off against Baldwin Wallace University in a best-of-five matchup to open the season falling by a score of 3-0.
The DeSales roster included Nicholas "Novic" Principato, Jacob "L33F" Godlewski, Eli "Mando" Romero, Ifrahim "Guts" Ansari and Micheal "M9K3" Torres. Baldwin Wallace University's roster featured Vixcenya, Dabossbaby, Satiny, Plastictea and Sylum.
1st Map: Lijiang Tower
DeSales began the match with a team comp of Symmetra, Juno, Baptiste, Bastion and Reinhart against Baldwin Wallace's team of Juno, Bastion, Junker Queen, Lucio and Genji. While DeSales quickly captured the control point and set up Symmetra turrets to prevent the enemy's re-entry, Baldwin Wallace met with an extremely aggressive retake. DeSales and Baldwin Wallace battled until the first point ended with a final score of 100% Baldwin Wallace and 67% DeSales. DeSales switched up the team comp on the second control map with Novic on Pharah, M9K3 on Ramattra and Guts on Sojourn. DeSales once again quickly captured the point, but Baldwin Wallace re-captured it for a final score of 100% Baldwin Wallace and 35% DeSales.
2nd Map: King's Row
On King's Row, DeSales ran a comp of Mei, Juno, Baptiste, Bastion and Reinhart. Baldwin Wallace retained their original team comp. Despite DeSales' best efforts, Baldwin Wallace captured the point and completely pushed the payload through the map on DeSales' defense round. On the attack, DeSales swapped their tank to Sigma and attempted to take the high ground and capture Baldwin Wallace's point. However, they could not secure the payload and ended the match with a 0-3 score.
3rd Map: Colosseo
DeSale's comp on Colosseo included Pharah, Juno, Ana, Bastion and Ramattra. DeSales was able to escort the robot 0.75 meters, while Baldwin Wallace escorted the robot to the DeSales spawn and won the game. DeSales put up a strong fight at the end, but the enemy Lucio's ultimate secured Baldwin Wallace the win.
