Logan Township, NJ (November 15, 2025) - Junior
Joey Wilson placed eighth overall leading the DeSales University men's cross country team to a tie for sixth place at the NCAA Division III Metro Region Championships on Saturday afternoon at Dreams Park.
This marks the fifth straight year the Bulldogs have finished inside the top eight at the Metro Region Championships.
This is the eighth time a runner has advanced to the NCAA Division III National Championships and the first since the 2023 season when
Shane Artis advanced for the second time.
Wilson earns All-Region honors with his eighth place finish, finishing in a time of 24:49.3 to lead the Bulldogs. His time was a personal record and is the top time for a Bulldog at the Regional Championships.
More top performances continued with sophomore
Bryce Phillips, who earned a personal record time of 26:20.4, and crossed the line in 44
th place. Senior
Davis Trump earned a season best time of 26:29.1, finishing in 50
th place overall. Next to cross the line, securing a personal record time was first-year
Alden Twist, who finished in 26:45.0 in 62
nd place. Bryce, Davis, and Alden also etched their names into DeSales school history, each securing a spot among the program's top fifty finishers at Regional Championships in the 8k—Bryce placing 22

Continuing the squads momentum was sophomore
James Viglianti, who finished with a time of 27:01.4 in 70
th place. Following right behind in 71
st place was Senior
James Cook, who finished in 27:03.5. Both Bulldogs also secured their place in DeSales school history, earning spots among the top fifty finishers at the Regional Championships in the 8k—

Dylan Mariconda, who earned a personal record time of 27:16.2, finishing in 78
th place overall.
While the rest of DSU's cross country season has concluded,
Joey Wilson will now be gearing up for the NCAA Division III National Championships, which will be held on November 22
nd in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
