Men’s Track & Field Competes at MAC Indoor Championships

Reading PA, (Feb 28th – Mar 1st) This weekend the DeSales' Men's Indoor Track and Field team competed at the MAC Indoor Championships for the 2025 season, hosted at Alvernia University.

Day 1
Kicking off day 1 on the track in the 4000 meter DMR, DeSales finished 4th place overall with a final time of 10:36.01. The DMR team consisted of Josh Deremer, Bryce Guthier, Alex Porambo, and Jozef Callano.  

In the 60 meter hurdles, senior Sam Estherson finished in 2nd place, with an overall final time of 8.30.
 
For the 60 meter, junior Tyler McCulloch placed 12th overall, with a time of 7.13.
 
Taking 3rd place overall in the 5000 meter, was sophomore Joey Wilson, with a time of 15:17. Senior Dean Ricco took 14th place overall with a time of 15:49.80. Stealing 19th place, was sophomore Bryce Phillips, with an overall time of 16:16.85. Senior Tim Connell placed 26th overall, with a time of 16:47.42.
 
Finishing out the track events for day 1 in the 4x200 meter relay, DeSales took 8th place overall, with a final combined time of 1:33.71. The 4x200 team consisted of Tyler McCulloch, Bryce Guthier, Colin Marsh, and Jozef Callano.  
 
On the field in the weight throw, junior Jonathan Eudja took 10th place overall with a throw of 14.43 meters. Finishing in 17th was sophomore Cameron Williams with a throw of 12.59 meters. Junior Giovanni Wellington placed 18th overall, with a throw of 12.58 meters.
 
In the Long Jump, first-year Jonathan Castronovo placed 7th overall, with a jump of 6.42 meters. Taking 9th place overall, was sophomore Lens Demosthene with a jump of 6.36 meters.
 
Finishing out day 1 in the pole vault, first-year Jack Jacobson placed 15th overall with a jump of 3.77 meters.     
 
Day 2
Beginning day 2 on the track in the 800 meter was sophomore Jozef Callano who took 9th place overall, with a time of 1:58.58.
 
In the 200 meter, junior Tyler McCulloch finished in 8th place overall, with a time of 22.90. Placing in 24th was sophomore Colin Marsh, with a time of 23.57.
 
Coming in 14th place overall in the 3000 meter, was senior Dean Ricco with a final time of 9:05.52. First-year Bryce Phillips finished in 20th place, with a time of 9:14.48. 
 
For the 4x800 meter relay, DeSales took 4th place overall with a time of 8:05.29. The relay team consisted of Josh Deremer, Alex Porambo, Joey Wilson, and Jozef Callano.
 
Wrapping up the day 2 track events in the 4x400 meter relay, DeSales finished in 12th place overall with a time of 3:35.32. The relay team consisted of Bryce Guthier, Tyler McCulloch, Colin Marsh, and Jozef Callano.
 
For the field events in the triple jump, first-year Jonathan Castronovo placed 8th overall with a jump of 13.20 meters. Junior Peter Skulski finished in 19th place overall with a jump of 11.96 meters.
 
In the shot put, senior Jacob Schaeffer who took 6th place overall with a personal best throw of 14.32 meters. Junior Giovanni Wellington finished in 22nd place overall with a throw of 12.03 meters.  

Next weekend: March 7th – March 8th, the bulldogs will be gearing up for AARTFC (Regionals) Championship hosted by Ithaca College.
