Brooke Signorella and
Ellie Kozich each posted very impressive finishes leading the DeSales University women's track & field team at the Danny Curran Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Kozich led the running events taking first place in the 10K with a time of 36:56.42, the second fastest time in DeSales history. Fellow first-year
Kay Wiscount took home fourth place in the 800-meters with a time of 2:16.73, the third fastest time in Bulldog history.
Signorella and sophomore
Avery Peluszak posted MAC qualfying times in the 100-meters as Signorella placed seventh in a time of 12.68 and Peluszak was 26th in a time of 13.30. Peluszak bettered her 200-meter qualfying time with a 26.89 and junior
Lindsay Bednarek was 41st with a qualfying time of 27.20. Senior
Melissa Peller bettered her 200 qualfying time with a time of 27.30.
Senior
Haley Estus placed seventh in the 5K with a time of 17:59.28 and sophomore
Nina Viglianti also qualified for the MAC Championships in the 10K with a time of 40:49.36.
In the field events, Signorella broke the school-record in the long jump with a mark of 5.29m, taking fifth. Sophomore
Catherine Crampton bettered her long jump qualfying mark with a 5.06m, taking 10th, and senior
Emma Ribeiro was 12th with a mark of 5.05m, to qualify for the MAC Championships.
Signorella bettered her triple jump mark, taking seventh (10.84m).
First-year
Sophia Amoretti bettered her shot put mark with a 9.87m, sophomore
Sophia Manidis was 19th in the hammer throw, also bettering her mark (38.84m), and first-year
Sadie Fenstermaker qualified in the shot put (9.59m - 37th) and discus (31.28m - 26th).
The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday when they compete at the Muhlenberg College Invitational.
