Men's Track & Field Returns to Action at Widener

Chester, PA (April 19, 2025) - The DeSales University men's track & field team returned to action competing at the Paul Donahue Invitational at Widener University on Saturday afternoon.

Starting the meet in the 1500m, first-year Bryce Phillips placed 47th overall, with a time of 4:15.19. First-year Brian Samayoa place 61st, with a time of 4:27.37. Junior Jordan Gallo finished in 66th, with a time of 4:32.50. Senior John Murphy placed 72nd, with a time of 4:38.73. First-year Michael Arculeo placed 79th, with a time of 5:11.82.
 
In the 100m, first-year Jack Jacobson finished 52nd overall, with a time of 11.56. Sophomore Javell McMichael placed 73rd, with a time of 11.99. First-year Jonathan Castronovo placed 75th, with a time of 12.00. Sophomore Weston Simak finished 89th, with a time of 12.20.
 
Notable performances continued in the 800m with sophomore Jozef Callano who placed 7th overall, with a personal record time of 1:52.63. Jozef's speedy time places him as the 3rd fastest runner in DeSales school history. First-year Alex Porambo finished 55th, with a personal record time of 2:00.33. First-year Aidan Phillips placed 74th, with a time of 2:04.18. First-year Bryce Phillips placed 78th, with a time of 2:05.69. Senior Tim Connell finished 86th, with a time of 2:07.44.
 
Sophomore Dylan Doskocil placed 15th overall in the 3000m Steeplechase, running a time of 10:26.64 Dylan's time also earned him the MAC qualifying standard for the 3000m Steeplechase.
 
In the Long Jump, first-year Jonathan Castronovo finished 17th overall, with a jump of 6.19 meters. Sophomore Weston Simak placed 22nd, with a jump of 6.00 meters. Both Jonathan and Weston earned the MAC qualifying standard for the Long Jump. Sophomore Javell McMichael finished 37th, with a jump of 5.82 meters.
 
First-year Jack Jacobson placed 12th overall in the Pole Vault, jumping 3.95 meters. Jack also earned the MAC qualifying standard for the Pole Vault.
 
Next Saturday April 25th through April 26th, the Bulldog's will be competing at Leigh University at the Carol and John Covert Classic in Bethlehem, PA.
