Men’s Track and Field Competes at Muhlenberg College

Allentown, PA (April 5, 2025) - The DeSales University men's track & field team continued its preparation for the MAC Championships competing at the Muhlenberg College Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

To begin the invite on Friday afternoon, the Hammer Throw was hosted home, at DeSales. Junior Jonathan Eudja finished in 3rd place overall, with a throw of 47.16 meters. Junior Giovanni Wellington placed 4th overall, with a throw of 44.84 meters. Gio's throw earns him as the 10th farthest throw in DeSales school history for the hammer. Sophomore Cameron Williams took 6th place, with a throw of 40.54 meters.
 
On Saturday in the High Jump, junior Brian Whitney placed 6th overall, with a jump of 1.82 meters.
 
More notable performances in the Javelin Throw included first-year Preston DeGrazia who finished 16th, with a throw of 39.69 meters. Junior Peter Skulski placed 20th, with a throw of 37.31 meters. Sophomore Kaden Issa finished 22nd overall, with a throw of 35.69 meters.
 
In the Long Jump, junior Peter Skulski took 13th overall, with a personal record jump of 5.53 meters.
 
For the Pole Vault, first-year Jack Jacobson finished in 4th place overall, with a jump of 3.64 meters.
 
Switching to the track in the 100, junior Tyler McCulloch placed 11th overall, with a time of 11.33. Sophomore Javell McMichael finished in 26th, with a time of 12.07. Junior Braeden DeGrazia placed 27th, with a time of 12.09.
 
In the 200, junior Tyler McCulloch took 7th place overall, with a season best time of 22.95. First-year Jack Jacobson finished in 21st place, with a personal record of 23.76. Junior Braeden DeGrazia placed 30th, with a season best time of 24.80.
 
Performances in the 400 included sophomore Colin Marsh who finished in 4th place overall, with a time of 52.15. First-year Cooper Stutz placed 5th overall, with a personal record time of 52.24.
 
For the 800, sophomore Jozef Callano took 2nd place overall, with a time of 1:58.02. First-year Alex Porambo finished in 9th place overall, with a time of 2:02.78. First-year Aidan Phillips placed 21st, with a time of 2:07.34. First-year Jordan Smith placed 24th overall, with a time of 2:08.76. Senior John Murphy placed 33rd, with a season best time of 2:14.95.
 
In the 1500, sophomore Jozef Callano finished in 2nd place overall, with a personal record time of 3:59.19. Jozef's time earns him 83rd place on the 2025 DIII Top 100 for the 1500 as well as placing him as the 6th fastest runner in DeSales school history for the 1500. First-year James Viglianti placed 21st overall, with a time of 4:27.96. Senior Cody Smith finished in 24th overall, with a personal record time of 4:30.41. First-year Brian Samayoa placed 25th, with a personal record time of 4:32.18. Junior Jordan Gallo finished 27th overall, with a personal record time of 4:35.80. First-year Michael Arculeo placed 31st, with a personal record time of 5:06.63.
 
More DeSales records continued in the 3000 Steeplechase with sophomore Joey Wilson who finished 1st overall, with a personal record time of 9:41.91. Senior Tim Connell placed 2nd overall, with a personal record time of 9:45.13. Joey's time earns him 53rd place and Timmy's time earns him 57th place on the 2025 DIII Top 100 for the 3000 Steeplechase. Both Joey and Timmy also earned 4th and 6th place on the all-time runners in DeSales school history for the 3000 Steeplechase.
 
Continuing in the Shot Put, senior Jacob Schaeffer finished in 5th place overall, with a throw of 13.17 meters. Senior Nick Chinn placed 19th overall, with a throw of 11.51 meters.
 
In the Tripple Jump, sophomore Weston Simak took 3rd place overall, with a jump of 13.08 meters. Weston's jump puts him as the 7th highest jump in DeSales school history for the Triple Jump.
 
Closing out the meet in the 4x400 Relay, DeSales ran two squads of relays. Relay team "A", which consisted of Cooper Stutz, Colin Marsh, Tyler McCulloch, and anchor Aidan Phillips finished with a time of 3:30.12. Relay team "B", which consisted of Alex Porambo, Jordan Smith, Brian Samayoa, and anchor James Viglianti finished with a time of 3:52.23.
 
Next weekend the Bulldog's will be competing at their home Invitational on Saturday April 12th.
