Brooke Signorella and senior
Haley Estus each took home first place finishes leading the DeSales University women's track & field team at the Muhlenberg College Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Signorella had another strong weekend taking first in the 100-meters bettering her MAC qualifying time with a 12.57 finish, the second fastest time in DeSales history. Junior
Lindsay Bednarek also ran well taking fifth in the 200-meters bettering her MAC time at 27.00 and was second in the 400-meters with a qualfying time of 1:00.42
Estus rounded out the top finishers in the running events taking first in the 3,000-meter steeplchase with an MAC qualfying time of 11:41.54, the fourth best in team history.
In the field events senior
Emma Ribeiro posted a qualfying mark of 4.82m in the long jump taking fourth place and sophomore
Catherine Crampton was fourth in the triple jump posting the fourth best mark in team history bettering her qualfying mark with a 10.66m jump.
First-year
Sadie Fenstermaker had a strong day taking second in the discus bettering her qualfying mark with a 36.97, the sixth best mark of all-time, was eighth in the shot put with a 10.20m, and posted a qualfying mark in the hammer throw taking third (40.65m).
Three other players either bettered their mark or posted MAC qualifying marks in the discus including senior
Rita Salzmann taking eighth (31.66m), first-year
Sophia Amoretti finishing ninth (30.94m), and sophomore
Sophia Manidis placing 17th (29.27m). Manidis also had a strong performance in the hammer throw with a fourth place finish (38.84m).
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, April 12th hosting a meet.
