Center Valley, PA (October 7, 2008) – The DeSales University women's soccer team got off to a sluggish start in its first game in 10 days and was unable to recover in a 3-0 loss to Drew University in a non-conference game on Tuesday afternoon.

The Rangers (5-4-2 overall) scored their first goal at the 9;23 mark when a ball over the top of the DSU defense led to a one-on-one with the Bulldogs keeper and Megan Fogarty beat the keeper to low left side for the game's first goal. Drew made it 2-0 on a similar play at the 18:55 mark when Alyssa Goodman took a long pass from Paulina Romero and beat the keeper in another one-on-one to the left side.

The deficit remained two goals into the second half when DSU started to control the pace of play. The Bulldogs came within inches of getting on the scoreboard in the 65th minute when freshman Amanda Fink (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) beat the Ranger keeper to the left but the ball bounced off the post and senior Dana Eustace's (Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Township) follow up shot went wide as the Bulldogs remained scoreless.

Drew tallied another goal at the 78:41 mark when Abby Dingle scored unassisted posting the final margin. The Bulldogs enjoyed a 20-16 advantage on shots, while Drew had an 8-4 lead in corner kicks. Freshman Melissa Millili (Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) made six saves in between the pipes in the loss.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, October 11th when they travel to Alvernia College for a Freedom Conference game beginning at 1:00 pm.
