Bethlehem, PA (April 20, 2008) – Junior Kelly Moran (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) tied the all-time career record for home runs with her sixth round tripper of the season leading the DeSales University softball team to a split with local rival Moravian College on Sunday afternoon as the Bulldogs took game one, 6-1, before dropping game two, 1-0, in a non-conference doubleheader.

Moran hit her sixth dinger of the season and the 13th of her career in the second inning of game one on Sunday afternoon tying her with Val Valach for the all-time lead at DeSales. The solo shot gave DSU a 1-0 lead as the Bulldogs (18-12 overall) tacked on three runs in the fifth inning on a two-RBI single from junior Amanda Kensecki (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) and added two more runs in the sixth inning on a two-RBI double from junior Maddie Roxandich (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) to take a 6-0 lead.

Moravian got one run in the bottom of the sixth inning but that was it as sophomore Kristen Cybularz (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Carroll) tossed her third complete-game of the season going all seven innings scattering seven hits and allowing just one run, while not issuing a walk. Cybularz improves to 6-5 on the season and lowers her ERA to 3.83 on the season. Roxandich, Kensecki and freshman Meghan Callahan (Franklin Square, NY/H. Frank Carey) each had two hits in the game one win.

The second game was a pitcher's duel as freshman Jen Lococo (Easton, PA/Freedom) pitched another brilliant game but was bested by Maria DeBonis who tossed a complete-game three-hitter to lead Moravian to a 1-0 game two win. Lococo allowed just six hits and one run, but that was all DeBonis needed in blanking the Bulldogs. Lococo is now 9-5 on the season with a team-low 1.39 ERA. Lococo, Moran and junior Jamie Pfitzenmayer (Annandale, NJ/Hunterdon Central) had the Bulldogs three hits in the second game.

DSU returns to action on Thursday, April 24th when they return home to host William Paterson University in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 pm.
