Center Valley, PA, (August 30, 2008) – Head Coach George Crampton became the first soccer coach in DeSales University history (men or women) to win 100+ games in career on Saturday afternoon as the DeSales University men's soccer team defeated PSU-Brandywine, 4-0, in a non-conference game in the 2008 home opener.

Crampton is now 100-75-10 (.568) in his 10th year as the head coach of the Bulldogs. DSU (2-0 overall) controlled the entire game on Saturday afternoon out-shooting the Nittany Lions (0-1 overall), 35-1, and holding a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.

Sophomore Joe Yoha (DuBois, PA/DuBois) scored the game's first goal and the eventual game-winner as he knocked home a free ball sent into the box from junior Tony Aufiero (Wall, NJ/Wall) just 5:36 into the game. The goal and the assist were the first of the season for each player. Freshman Derek Long (Wernersville, PA/Conrad Weiser) made it 2-0 at the 26:14 mark when he beat two defenders on the dribble at the top of the box and fired a shot just inside the right post to provide the halftime margin. The marker was his second of the year.

In the second half, junior Dustin Sturm (North Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May) got his first goal of the season, taking a pass from Long on the right side of the box and sliding the ball over top a charging Nittany Lion keeper. Sophomore Aaron Gildner (Slatington, PA/Parkland) finished the scoring as he ripped home his first goal of the season at the 67:05 mark on a pass from senior David Ackley (North Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May).

Juniors Keith Barry (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) and Kevin Lawrence (Norristown, PA/Kennedy-Kenrick) combined on the shutout with each player playing 45 minutes in between the pipes. No saves were recorded.

The Bulldogs will stay at home and return to action on Wednesday, September 3rd when they host Cabrini College in a non-conference game beginning at 4:45 pm.
