Boston, MA, (September 5, 2009) – The DeSales University women's soccer team kept coming back, erasing one-goal deficits twice but were never able to take a lead and eventually fell to Simmons College, 3-2, in a non-conference game on the road on Saturday afternoon.

Trailing 1-0, freshman Tori Kinek (Blandon, PA/Fleetwood) scored her first collegiate goal off an assist from senior Nicole Pietrobon (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) at the 15:14 mark of the first half. The score remained tied at one entering halftime as DSU held a 15-10 edge in shots in the opening 45 minutes.

In the second half, Simmons went back on top by one with a goal just 4:20 into the period but once again the Bulldogs had the tying answer as junior Jena Meaney (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph Hill Academy) scored her first goal off a feed from sophomore Amanda Fink (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth). That tie however lasted just 1:02 as Simmons' Lindsey Butler scored at the 77:47 mark to untie the game for the third time and that goal held up as the final margin.

DSU had a 26-23 edge in shot as sophomore Melissa Millili (Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) made eight saves in the loss. The Bulldogs return to action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Wheelock College for another non-conference game beginning at Noon.
