Men’s Soccer Back in Postseason Tonight at Misericordia

Center Valley, PA (November 1, 2016) – The DeSales University men's soccer team returns to the MAC Freedom postseason tonight for the first time since the 2011 season traveling to top seeded Misericordia University for the MAC Freedom semifinals with kickoff set for 7:00 pm.
 
The Bulldogs earned the #4 seed in the postseason tournament having posted a 9-8-2 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the MAC Freedom, while the top seeded Cougars finished the regular season with an 11-5-2 overall mark and a 6-1 record in MAC Freedom play.
 
Game time is set for 7:00 pm and admission will be charged for the event and is set at $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for seniors, and $2.00 for students w/valid college ID.  All children under the age of six are free.

If you are unable to attend tonight's game in Dallas, PA you will be able to follow the game via LIVE STATS and/or LIVE VIDEO.  Both are offered free of charge and available on a desktop/laptop computer as well as a mobile device.
 
DeSales/Misericordia History:
Tonight's contest will be the 20th career meeting between the two teams with the Cougars holding a 9-7-3 lead in the all-time series entering tonight's game.  MU won the regular season match-up, 3-0, but ironically in the last six career meetings the road team holds a 5-0-1 record.  DSU is 4-3-1 all-time at Misericordia and this is the second career meeting in the postseason with the first coming back in 2010, a 2-1 Bulldogs win in the semifinals.
 
Regular Season Meeting:
Misericordia took the regular season meeting between the two teams by a 3-0 score in Center Valley, PA.  A scoreless game into the 33rd minute was broken open when MU scored twice in the span of 21 seconds to take a 2-0 lead and DSU never recovered.  Misericordia had a 15-2 edge in shots and a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks for the game.
 
MAC Freedom Postseason History:
The Bulldogs are making their ninth appearance in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament and the first since the 2011 season.  DSU has won four MAC Freedom titles including three straight from 2005-07 and the last coming in 2010.  Overall DeSales holds a 9-4 record in the postseason tournament and are 3-2 on the road.
