Center Valley, PA (October 19, 2020) - The DeSales University esports team earned its second straight win, the second 2-match win streak of the season, with a 3-0 win over Arcadia University on Thursday evening.
The match against Arcadia was set to be one of the closest matches of the season. With DeSales at the time in the 4th spot and Arcadia in 5th in the standings this victory would not come easy. The first map Lijiang Tower, a capture and control map, saw the first point fall to Arcadia, but after a quick regroup, DeSales quickly came up with a counter strategy and clutched up map two from the brink of defeat. Keeping up the momentum, and with some clutches from the DPS lineup, map three was an easy hold.
Heading into game two, Junkertown, DeSales was looking to lose the defense on the second point. Lucky that night's MVP Cynosure clutched up at the last few meters of Arcadia push, holding out a 1v5 situation until his team arrived. The map would then go to DeSales leading them into a 2-0 going into the final map Kings Row.
Kings Row was the easiest win for DeSales of the set, allowing them to cruise their way to another victory securing the 4th place spot for the team.
