Jimmy Shensky was named the ECAC Rookie of the Year while junior
Joseph Reteneller was named ECAC First-Team and junior
Liam MacDonald was named to the Second-Team as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
This marks the first time since the 2016 season that a Bulldog was named to an ECAC Team.Â
Shensky becomes the first Bulldog in program history to take home the ECAC Rookie of the Year award while also being named to the Second-Team. He adds this honor to All-MAC Freedom First-Team, MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year, and United Soccer Coaches All-Region First-Team. Shensky had a tremendous year in between the pipes as he led the MAC Freedom with a .648 GAA, .854 save percentage, and recorded nine shutouts. Shensky's GAA and shutouts each ranked 3
rd best all-time for a season in team history.
Reteneller takes home ECAC honors for the first time in his career, having already earned All-MAC Freedom Second-Team honors this season. He started in 19 of 20 games for the Bulldogs on the defense and finished second on the team in scoring with five goals and two assists for 12 points. All five of his goals came off penalty shots.
MacDonald also takes home ECAC honors for the first time in his career. He adds the ECAC hardware to a list of accolades this year that includes All-MAC Freedom First-Team, MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Year, and United Soccer Coaches All-Region First-Team. MacDonald led the team in scoring with 13 goals and added two assists for 28 assists. He ranked second in the MAC Freedom in goals scored.
