Cortland, NY (May 15, 2024) - The DeSales University men's track & field closed out a very successful season at the AARTFC Outdoor Regional Championship at SUNY-Cortland on Wednesday.
The 4x100-meter relay team consisting of first-year
Colin Marsh and seniors
Kyle Dunbar,
Vajon Wilson, and
Logan Berner shattered their own school record again with a time of
41.79. They took first place in their heat, and fourth place overall to secure five team points. This marks the second time they broke the record this season, beating out the second-place time by an incredible
.72 seconds.
In the 110-meter hurdles, junior
Sam Estherson finished with a time of
15.36 to take 12
th place overall. He finishes the season as the school record holder in the event.
Then, in the 100-meter, Berner came back to finish 22
nd overall with a time of
11.14. He will retire with the second fastest time in the event in school history with a personal best time of
10.83.
Over at the hammer throw, sophomore
Jonathan Eudja placed 23
rd with a throw of
47.89m. He currently sits in sixth place on the all-time list for the event.
In the 10,000-meter, graduate student
Matt Santacoloma finished 11
th overall with a time of
32:19.00. He will also retire with the second fastest time for the 10,000-meter in school history with a personal best time of
31:12.13.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs will be graduating 16 seniors, but will maintain a very talented young core as they look to take on another conference title and much more in the year ahead.
