Wilson Leads Men's CC to 15th Place at Border Battle

Logan Township, NJ (October 18, 2025) - Junior Joey Wilson led the DeSales University men's cross country team to 15th place out of 35 teams at the Border Battle hosted at Dreams Park on Saturday morning.

The Dream Park 8k course is mostly flat and ideal for running fast times. The Bulldogs notably outpaced several rival teams including Stevens, Lebanon Valley, and Stockton. Leading the charge with an impressive time was junior Joey Wilson, who finished in 19th place overall, with a time of 25:10.7.
 
The next three Bulldogs crossed the finish line within seconds of one another, each clocking a sub-27-minute time. Sophomore Bryce Phillips led the trio, placing 92nd overall with a time of 26:21.9. Senior James Cook followed close behind in 100th place, finishing in 26:26.6. Sophomore James Viglianti rounded out the group in 130th, finishing with a time of 26:50.0.
 
Other performances in the championship race included, first-year Alden Twist, who placed 157th with a time of 27:10.6. Fellow first-year Ryan Durkin followed in 180th, with a time of 27:32.6. Sophomore Jordan Smith crossed the line in 211th place, with a time of 27:56.7. Just ahead, first-year Dylan Mariconda finished in 214th, with a final time of 27:58.7. First-year Cody Doskocil placed 235th, with a time of 28:20.9, while senior Davis Trump placed 240th, in 28:25.9. First-year Brady Snyder rounded out the Championship squad in 244th, clocking a time of 28:34.0.
 
In the Open 8k, DSU took 13th place out of twenty teams. There performances include: Next Friday October 24th, the Bulldog's will be back in action at Union Canal Park for the Lebanon Valley Last Chance Run. Bulldog's who aren't competing at the Last Chance Run will be gearing up for MAC Championships on November 1st.
