Reading, PA (February 28, 2026) - The DeSales University men's indoor track and field team competed at Alvernia University for the MAC Championships finishing 8
th out of 15 teams with a total of 34 points.
Beginning Day 1 on the track in the 4000-meter DMR were first-year
Keegan Dube, junior
Bryce Guthier, sophomore
Alex Porambo, and junior
Jozef Callano. Keegan opened for the squad in the 1200-meter, running 3:18.05. Bryce continued the momentum in the 400-meter, running 52.17. Next up was Alex in the 800-meter, clocking a time of 2:03.46. Closing out the Bulldogs' DMR squad was Jozef, who anchored the 1600-meter leg, crossing the line in 4:22.49. The DMR team placed 5
th overall with a final time of 10:36.20, scoring 4 points for DeSales.
Sophomore
Jack Jacobson competed in the 60-meter, placing 22
nd overall with a time of 7.26 seconds.
In the 5000-meter, junior
Joey Wilson earned 5
th place overall, running 15:03.46 and scoring 4 points for DeSales. His time ranks 4
th in the DeSales University top-10 individual indoor performances for the event. The next three Bulldogs finished back-to-back in 11
th, 12
th, and 13
th. Leading the group was first-year
Alden Twist in 15:48.89. First-year
Ryan Durkin followed in 15:56.23, and senior
Davis Trump crossed in 15:56.54. Sophomore
Bryce Phillips placed 25
th overall with a time of 16:24.04.
The Bulldog's also competed in the 4x200-meter relay. DeSales placed 11
th overall, with a final time of 1:36.28.
Switching to the field events for Day 1, sophomore
Jack Jacobson competed in the Pole Vault, finishing 11
th overall with a jump of 3.79 meters.
In the Long Jump, junior
Weston Simak placed 7
th with a jump of 6.68 meters, scoring 2 points for DeSales. Weston's jump moves him into 2
nd place on the DeSales indoor top-10 list. Following right behind in 8
th place was sophomore
Jonathan Castronovo, who jumped 6.66 meters, scoring 1 point for the team. Jonathan's jump places him 3
rd all-time for indoors in DeSales record book.
In the Weight Throw, senior
Giovanni Wellington finished 8
th with a throw of 14.51 meters, earning 1 point for DeSales. Fellow senior
Jonathan Eudja placed 15
th with a mark of 13.61 meters. First-year
Ryan Rodriguez placed 23
rd with a throw of 12.90 meters.
Starting Day 2, in the Heptathlon, sophomore
Jonathan Castronovo and first-year
Tyler Cloidt competed across the 60-meter, Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump, 60-meter Hurdles, Pole Vault, and 1000-meter. Jonathan placed 7
th overall with a final score of 3998, earning 2 points for DeSales. Tyler finished 12
th overall with a score of 3218.
In the 400-meter, junior
Bryce Guthier finished 14
th overall with a time of 52.81 seconds.
In the 800-meter, junior
Jozef Callano earned 6
th place overall, scoring 3 points for DeSales with a time of 1:57.36. His performance also ranks 5
th on the DeSales indoor top-10 list.
In the 3000-meter, junior
Joey Wilson earned a 2
nd place finish, scoring 8 points for the Bulldogs. He crossed the line in 8:35.58, ranking 2
nd on the DeSales indoor top-10 list. First-year
Alden Twist finished 17
th in 9:13.01.
For the Day 2 field events, junior
Weston Simak competed in the Triple Jump, earning 5
th place with a jump of 13.61 meters and scoring 4 points for DeSales. His performance also ranks 2
nd on the DeSales indoor top-10 list.
In the Shot Put, first-year
John Amoretti finished 13
th overall with a throw of 12.62 meters.
During Saturday's events DeSales competed in both the 4x400-meter Relay and the 4x800-meter Relay. In the 4x400-meter, DeSales placed 10
th overall with a time of 3:42.11. For the 4x800-meter, DeSales finished in 4
th place, scoring 5 points for DeSales in a time of 8:10.02.
The Bulldogs will now be gearing up for the 2026 AARTFC Indoor Championships hosted at the New York Armory on March 6
th through March 7
th.
