DeSales Track & Field Competes at Carol and John Covert Classic

Bethlehem, PA (April 25, 2026) - The DeSales University men's track & field team had its final tune up prior to the MAC Championships competing at the Carol and John Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University on Friday and Saturday.
 
Starting on the field Friday evening in the Hammer Throw was senior Jonathan Eudja, who earned 3rd place overall with a throw of 50.75 meters. Fellow senior Giovanni Wellington placed 9th with a mark of 44.28 meters. First-year John Amoretti finished 20th with a throw of 25.98 meters.
 
In the Javelin, first-year Brendan Miller placed 12th overall with a throw of 46.87 meters. Junior Kaden Issa finished 14th with a mark of 41.54 meters.
 
On Saturday on the track in the 1,500-meter was senior Davis Trump, who took 15th place overall, running a personal-best time of 4:14.53. First-year Keegan Dube placed 20th in 4:19.80. Senior Jordan Gallo crossed the line in 24th place with a time of 4:36.25. First-year Noah Zimmerman finished 27th in 4:49.70. Senior John Murphy placed 28th running a time of 4:55.41. Sophomore Michael Arculeo placed 29th overall in 5:10.74, and first-year Joey DeAngelis finished 30th in 5:16.12.
 
In the 110-meter hurdles, first-year Tyler Cloidt finished 6th overall, running a personal-best time of 20.43 seconds.
 
For the 400-meter, sophomore Aidan Phillips placed 14th overall, crossing the finish line in a personal-best time of 53.31 seconds. First-year Tyler Cloidt followed in 17th place, running a personal best of 1:04.12.
 
In the 100-meter, first-year Reed Felker placed 6th overall with a time of 11.42 seconds. Sophomore Jack Jacobson finished 8th in 11.47 seconds.
For the 800-meter, sophomore Alex Porambo placed 15th overall in 2:02.83. Following close behind in 16th was first-year Brady Snyder, who ran 2:03.27. First-year Jack Tavani placed 21st with a personal-best time of 2:07.88, and senior Jordan Gallo finished 28th in 2:15.20.
 
In the 200-meter, sophomore Cooper Stutz finished 6th overall in 23.53 seconds. The next three Bulldogs followed in 7th, 8th, and 9th place respectively. First-year Bryce Solly crossed the line with a season-best time of 23.71 seconds, fellow first-year Sean Alfaro finished in 23.93 seconds, and sophomore Aidan Phillips clocked 24.27 seconds. First-year Reed Felker placed 12th in 24.63 seconds.
 
For the 5,000-meter, first-year Ryan Durkin placed 6th overall, running 16:35.22.
 
Switching to the field events for Saturday, in the Shot Put was first-year John Amoretti, who placed 6th overall with a mark of 13.80 meters. Fellow first-year Grady Hanson placed 16th with a throw of 11.81 meters. First-year Aidan Tonero finished 22nd with a mark of 9.98 meters, and senior Christopher Landau placed 23rd with a throw of 8.74 meters.
 
In the Discus, first-year John Amoretti finished 13th overall with a throw of 34.68 meters. Senior Christopher Landau placed 17th with a mark of 29.76 meters, and first-year Aidan Tonero finished 18th with a throw of 27.38 meters.
 
With the end of the regular season, the Bulldogs will now gear up for the MAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Messiah University and taking place April 30th through May 2nd, 2026.
