Annville, PA (May 2, 2026) - The DeSales University men's track & field team took home eighth place out of 16 teams competing at the MAC Outdoor Championships hosted by Messiah University on Thursday thru Saturday.
The Bulldogs finished in the middle of the pack behind Lebanon Valley's winning 150 points. They stayed just outside the teams that rounded out the top 7, notably closing the meet ahead of Arcadia and Alvernia.
Beginning on the track in the 10,000-meter, junior
Joey Wilson took 2
nd place in 31:36.94, securing 8 points for the team. First-year
Alden Twist finished in a time of 33:17.83, taking 6
th place overall, earning 3 points for the team. Senior
James Cook crossed the line with a time of 33:54.50, good for 15
th place. Sophomore
Bryce Phillips placed 19
th in a final time of 34:12.46. Fellow sophomore
James Viglianti rounded out the Bulldog's 10k pack with a time of 34:21.51, finishing 23
rd overall.
In the 800-meter, junior
Jozef Callano took 3
rd place in 1:52.71, scoring 6 points for the team. He carried that momentum into the 1,500-meter, where he claimed 1
st place overall in 3:55.39, adding another 10 points for the Bulldogs. Also in the 1,500-meter, first-year
Keegan Dube finished 12
th with a time of 4:08.91.
For the 400-meter Hurdles, junior
Bryce Guthier finished 7
th overall in 57.64 seconds. He secured 2 points for the team.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, first-year
Ryan Durkin placed 11
th in 10:13.97,
Jack Tavani finished 18
th in 10:32.40, and sophomore
Jordan Smith crossed the line 24
th in 10:53.49.
Switching to the field events, in the long jump junior
Weston Simak took 6
th place with a jump of 6.72 meters, securing 4 points for the team. Sophomore
Jonathan Castronovo followed with a mark of 6.55 meters, placing 9
th.
Castronovo also competed in the high jump, where he finished 9
th with a mark of 1.82 meters.
Senior
Jonathan Eudja took 2
nd place in the Hammer with a mark of 49.95 meters, scoring 8 points for the team. First-year
Ryan Rodriguez also notably competed, finishing 12
th with a throw of 42.37 meters.
In the Pole Vault, sophomore
Jack Jacobson cleared a height of 3.88 meters, tying for 17
th place overall.
First-year
Brendan Miller took 7
th overall in the Javelin with a mark of 50.75 meters, securing 2 points for the Bulldogs. Senior
Dane Watson followed in 14
th throwing 48.90 meters, and first-year
Tyler Cloidt placed 20
th with a mark of 42.52 meters.
For the Triple Jump, junior
Weston Simak placed 8
th overall with a jump of 13.70 meters, securing 1 point for DeSales. Sophomore
Jonathan Castronovo finished 20
th with a mark of 12.54 meters, and senior
Peter Skulski placed 23
rd with a jump of 11.96 meters.
First-year
John Amoretti finished 10
th in the Shot Put with a mark of 13.28 meters.
In the Discus, first-year
Ryan Rodriguez finished 18
th overall with a mark of 39.43 meters, senior
Giovanni Wellington followed in 21
st with a throw of 38.85 meters, and first-year
John Amoretti placed 31
st with a mark of 33.60 meters.
For the Decathlon, first-year
Tyler Cloidt finished in 12
th place overall with a final total of 4,141 points.
DeSales also competed in the 4x800 and 4x400. In the 4x800, the team of

Some Bulldogs will return for one final performance at the Final Qualifier Invite at Widener University on Monday, May 11
th. Others will be competing at the AARTFC Regional Championship at the New York Armory on Wednesday and Thursday, May 13
th - 14
th.
