Frank Yasunas ’92, a four-year player on the men’s basketball team from 1988-92 helped guide DeSales to a 19-6 record including a 7-0 start with Division III National Recognition as a sophomore. His junior year, the 1990-91 team was the first men’s basketball team in DeSales history to win 20+ games and also win the ECAC South Region Tournament Championship.

He was named to the All-ESAC First-Team once and was named the Dr. John Compardo Male Athlete of the Year as a senior in 1991-92. Frank was also named the team Most Valuable Player three times was a two-time team captain as a junior and a senior.

Yasunas still ranks among the all-time leaders in Field Goals Made (634 – 1st), Steals (1st – 276), Points Scored (1,560 – 3rd), Three-Point Field Goal Percentage (.397 – T-4th), Assists (336 – 5th), Points per Game (14.2 – 8th), Blocked Shots (58 – 11th), Field Goal Percentage (.490 – 15th) and Free Throws Made (223 – 16th). 

Following his graduation from DeSales, Yasunas had several tryouts in 1992 most notably with the Cedar Rapids Sharpshooters under head coach and NBA legend Rick Barry and the West Chester Stallions of the USBL. He was also offered the opportunity to play abroad and for the Washington Generals who toured with the Harlem Globetrotters.

Professionally Yasunas has been in Sales & Marketing since graduating DeSales with a Bachelor of Science degree in sales and marketing. He worked with Bethlehem Apparatus Co. for four years as a Marketing Manager before moving to Dallas, Texas, to work for Waste Management until 2003 expanding his skills in sales, marketing, training and leading teams as a division sales manager.

Since 2003 he has worked within the Johnson & Johnson family of companies in multiple sales and management roles including his current position as the senior manager for Sales Planning & Analytics with Ethicon Surgical Care focusing on Sales Force Effectiveness. In addition he is a Franklin Township School Board of Education member and remains active in basketball where he coaches 3rd & 4th grade girl’s recreation basketball. 

While Frank has lived in Texas and Massachusetts since graduation, he now resides in Pittstown, N.J. He married Michelle Zarish in 1997 and they have two daughters, Maggie (9) and Katie (8).
