Loretta (Thomas) Lohenitz was a standout on the volleyball team from 1995-98 graduating from DeSales with a bachelor of arts in criminal justice and social work with a minor in psychology.  She went on to earn her Masters in Education, Secondary School Counseling from Kutztown University in 2003.

Lohenitz helped lead the Bulldogs to two straight PAC Championships in 1995 and 1996 and make one appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 1995.  Despite multiple knee injuries that included two ACL repairs during her career, including missing the final 14 matches in 1997 with a torn ACL and still leading the team in kills with 295, Lohenitz managed to put up some spectacular career numbers that rank among the all-time leaders.

Today she is ranked eighth all-time in kills (1,026), 10th in hitting percentage (.255), 15th in digs (1,026), 16th in total blocks (163), and sixth in service aces (203).  Lohenitz is one of just three players all-time to record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career.  Individually she was named to the All-MAC Freedom First-Team twice in 1997 and 1998.

Lohenitz now joins her sister, Barb Thomas, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005.  The two played one season together in 1995, winning the first of two PAC Championships.
