Gina (Malatesta) Meehl ’06 was a standout on the field hockey team at DeSales for the program’s first two seasons in 2004 and 2005. She graduated from DSU with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, Magna Cum Laude, and later went on to earn her Masters of Education in Elementary Education from Holy Family University in 2009.
Meehl was part of the first two teams in DSU field hockey history helping the Bulldogs start the program during her junior year. She finished her two-year career with 33 goals and three assists for 69 points, which still ranks eighth all-time, in just two seasons played.
Meehl was named All-MAC Freedom First-Team as a senior in 2005 and was also named to the MAC All-Century Team.
