Tom Junod was a standout on the very first men’s basketball teams at DeSales University from 1968-70 graduating in the second class in school history in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
He was a star on the first two varsity basketball teams at DeSales serving as a team captain as a senior. He led the then Centaurs to a dedication day victory in Billera Hall scoring 18 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in the first-ever home game. Junod averaged 13.4 points per game over his two years finishing with 483 career points in two years. He also averaged 9.0 rebounds per game over his career. Junod is still in the record books recording the fourth most rebounds in a game when he pulled down 20 in a game to go along with 32 points vs. Lehigh Valley Community College in December of 1968.
