Steinman was a standout four-year player on the baseball team earning team Most Valuable Player three of his four years on the team and earning All-ESAC (Eastern States Athletic Conference) First-Team honors in 1990.  At the time of his induction Steinman’s career numbers still ranked among the all-time leaders including batting average (.342 – 25th), runs scored (82 – T-32nd), Hits (121 – T-27th), doubles (23 – T-31st), RBIs (91 – T-22nd), and stolen bases (54 – T-8th).  Steinman also finished his career with nine home runs, including a three home run game vs. Muhlenberg College during the 1991 season.
