DeSales University Athletics

Mayza was a four-year member of the men's basketball team, serving as team captain twice and MVP once.  At his time of induction he was ranked second all-time in assists with 474 and third all-time in steals with 230, while also scoring 586 career points.  He received the Stanley J. Orzechowski Award in 1986-87 was named an ESAC All-Star in 1983-84.  He later returned to the University as the women's basketball coach in 1989-90, leading the Bulldogs to a 27-2 record, winning the ESAC Championship, and advancing to the NCAA "Sweet 16" in his only season on the sidelines.
